According to Darren Small, senior vice president of Managed Trading Services at Sportradar, betting activity has “exceeded expectations.” He revealed to AFP that the ticket volume has seen an impressive 80% rise when compared to the 2022 tournament. This substantial jump has been observed even after factoring in the greater number of games played due to the expanded format.
The data suggests that while traditional football followers might have been unsure about the format change, those placing bets have embraced the opportunity for more matches and wider participation, translating into a significant boost in wagers placed.
