Gladbach Director Denies Newcastle's Nicolas Bid

Borussia Mönchengladbach's sporting director, Rouven Schröder, has publicly dismissed claims that Newcastle United recently tabled a €12 million offer for goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas. The German club's stance contradicts reports originating from German media outlet Bild.
Reports emerged recently suggesting that Premier League club Newcastle United had made a formal approach for Borussia Mönchengladbach's Moritz Nicolas. German publication Bild indicated that the English side was willing to pay €12 million for the German goalkeeper.
However, these claims have been directly addressed and denied by Gladbach's own sporting director, Rouven Schröder. Schröder has stated that no such offer has been received by the club for Nicolas, effectively shutting down the speculation linking the 26-year-old shot-stopper with a move to St. James' Park.
Nicolas has established himself as a key player for Borussia Mönchengladbach, recently securing the starting goalkeeper position. His performances have seemingly attracted attention from abroad, but for now, any potential transfer remains firmly in the realm of rumour, according to the club's leadership.
While transfers are always fluid, Schröder's firm denial suggests either Newcastle's interest wasn't serious enough for a formal bid, or Gladbach is adept at managing transfer sagas. Either way, it's a clear message that Nicolas isn't on the market.
