Joplin Welcomes Elite and Local Cyclists for Pump Track Qualifier

Joplin gears up to host a significant international cycling event, being named a host city for the 2026 Velosolutions/UCI Pump Track Qualifier. The competition is set to take place from August 15th to 16th at the MOmentum Bike Park, drawing attention from a global field of athletes.

However, the event will not exclusively feature professional riders. Organizers have confirmed that local cyclists will also have the opportunity to participate. Ruth Sawkins of Rufus Racing, who is directing the event, stated that local riders can indeed enter the world qualifier competition.

A key aspect of this qualifier is its accessibility. Riders do not need to hold professional status to enter, opening the door for a broader range of talent and enthusiasts to compete on the world stage.
