Jude Bellingham's opener against Norway sparks debate over potential foul
Jude Bellingham's equalizer for England against Norway has ignited controversy, with photographic evidence suggesting a potential infringement in the play leading up to the goal.
The England midfielder brought his side level with a well-taken goal. However, the celebrations were quickly overshadowed by scrutiny of the preceding passage of play.
The incident in question occurred just prior to the interval, deep into first-half stoppage time. Norway's goalkeeper, Ørjan Håskjold Nyland, released a long goal-kick downfield.
The ball landed within England's own half, close to the touchline, where teammate Elliot Anderson managed to gain control. Anderson then progressed forward to initiate the move that culminated in Bellingham's strike.
VAR is meant to eliminate controversy, not create it. If the replay shows clear interference, why wasn't it spotted and acted upon?
