Mill Rats Tally Split Series with Bombers
The Johnstown Mill Rats and Dubois County Bombers traded wins on Friday, with the Mill Rats claiming the nightcap victory after the Bombers took the suspended opener.
The Johnstown Mill Rats earned a split of their series with the Dubois County Bombers on Friday, salvaging the second game of a doubleheader with a 7-3 triumph. This victory came after the Mill Rats fell 4-3 in a contest that was originally suspended from Thursday.
In the decisive second game, Johnstown established their lead by scoring six runs across the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings. Their offensive efforts were bolstered by multi-hit performances from Brock Budacki, Brady Gavula, and Caleb Rey. Both Budacki and Gavula also contributed doubles to the Mill Rats' attack, with Gavula driving in a pair of runs.
Splitting a series is rarely a cause for celebration, but for the Mill Rats, snatching a win after a tough loss in a suspended game shows resilience. They'll need more consistent performances to truly contend.
