The Seattle Seahawks, fresh off a Super Bowl victory, are under new ownership. An official announcement was made Saturday confirming the sale of the NFL franchise to a group led by Vinod Khosla, a prominent billionaire with Indian roots and a co-founder of Sun Microsystems.
The Estate of Paul G. Allen, the previous owner, stated that a definitive sale agreement has been reached with this new consortium. Khosla, who is also a stakeholder in the San Francisco 49ers ownership group, is positioned at the forefront of this significant transaction.
This marks a substantial shift in NFL ownership, bringing an influential tech mogul with a diverse business portfolio into the league's top echelon.
