Despite the New York Mets' difficult season, All-Star representative Juan Soto remains confident that the upcoming break can provide a much-needed spark for the team. Soto highlighted his own strong individual performance as a sign of what's possible.
Juan Soto, the sole representative for the New York Mets at the MLB Home Run Derby, exuded positivity despite his team's struggles. The outfielder, who is enjoying a standout individual season, suggested that the impending All-Star break could serve as a turning point for the cellar-dwelling Mets. He expressed his belief that the team needs to 'keep believing' in their ability to improve.
Soto's personal performance stands in stark contrast to the team's current standing. He is delivering a season worthy of celebration, boasting a .967 OPS, which ranks second in the National League. Additionally, his .405 on-base percentage also places him second in the league, and he is currently hitting .290.
While Soto's individual brilliance is undeniable, his optimism for the Mets' turnaround hinges on a team-wide resurgence that has yet to materialize.
