The 78th annual Ozark Amateur culminated in a dramatic one-hole playoff on Sunday, with Jack Spencer emerging victorious. The University of Missouri-Kansas City golfer faced off against Missouri Southern State University's Zach Gardner at Schifferdecker Golf Course.
Both competitors finished regulation play tied at 134 strokes after rounds of 67 and 67 for Spencer, and 66 and 68 for Gardner. The playoff round proved decisive, with Spencer sinking a crucial 10-foot putt for birdie to claim the championship.
Gardner, who had an impressive performance throughout the tournament, was unable to match Spencer's final putt, ultimately settling for the runner-up position.
A championship decided on the final putt is always a nail-biter, but Spencer's clutch performance under pressure solidifies his status as a player to watch.
