UNM Basketball to Face Wichita State in Home-and-Home Series

New Mexico Lobos men's basketball fans can look forward to a future non-conference matchup against Wichita State. The program officially announced on Monday that it has inked a deal for a two-game series, with games scheduled to be played at both teams' home venues.

The first contest of this new home-and-home agreement will take place in Wichita on November 21st of the coming season. The return leg of the series is earmarked for the 2027-28 season, with the Lobos hosting the Shockers at their familiar home court, The Pit. Specific dates for the 2027-28 game are still to be determined.

While the timing of this announcement means the series won't impact potential NCAA Tournament hosting rights for the current season, it provides a significant non-conference test for the Lobos program against a historically strong opponent in Wichita State.
