World Records Fall at Lumberjack Championships

The prestigious Lumberjack World Championships, held annually in Hayward, Wisconsin, concluded this past Saturday with a display of incredible strength and skill, marking the occasion with three newly set world records. This year's competition drew a significant field, featuring 66 male athletes and 40 women, all vying for top honors in various wood-chopping and sawing disciplines.

Among the standout performances were those by Karolina Urbanová of the Czech Republic, who etched her name in the record books by setting two new world bests. While the specific events were not detailed, her double achievement underscores her dominance in the sport.

Adding to the historic nature of the championships, Meredith Ingbretson, a local athlete from Hayward, delivered a blistering performance in the Women's Boom Run. Ingbretson navigated a challenging course comprised of eight red cedar logs, sprinting across the water and back in an astonishing 13.78 seconds, a new world record for the event.
