Zach Johnson Claims First Senior Major at Firestone

Zach Johnson clinched his first major championship on the PGA Tour Champions circuit with a commanding performance at the Kaulig Companies Championship. The event, held at the historic Firestone Country Club, saw Johnson finish strong with a 2-under-par 68 in the final round to secure a six-shot triumph.

Johnson established a significant advantage heading into Sunday, thanks to a stellar 63 in the third round that gave him a four-stroke cushion. Despite a couple of bogeys in his early holes on the final day, his lead remained unchallenged, with no competitors mounting a serious threat to his position.

This victory is Johnson's third since joining the 50-and-older tour this season. The win also significantly narrows the gap between him and Stewart Cink in the ongoing race for the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
